THE U-MASS BOARD OF TRUSTEES
FINANCE COMMITTEE HAS APPROVED A
480- MILLION DOLLAR STATE
FUNDING REQUEST FOR THE NEXT
FISCAL YEAR.
THE REQUEST CAME ONE DAY AFTER
GOVERNOR PATRICK ANNOUNCED THAT
SLUMPING STATE REVENUES WILL
FORCE HIM TO CURB SPENDING. THAT
WOULD TRANSLATE INTO A 1-
PERCENT REDUCTION IN STATE
FUNDING FOR U-MASS…. DURING
THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR. THE
UNIVERSITY SAYS THE MONEY WOULD
HELP THE SCHOOL REACH ITS GOAL
OF EQUAL FUNDING FROM THE STATE
AND STUDENTS.
A YOUNG GIRL WANTS HER BROTHER
