NHS DOCTORS
Health secretary Jeremy Hunt says he plans
to train up to one and a half thousand more
British doctors.
He said it will ensure we have enough doctors
for the future – especially as people now
tend to live longer.
NHS hospitals currently rely heavily on doctors
from abroad.
HURRICANE MATTHEW
The island of Haiti is bracing for ‘catastrophic’
floods and mudslides as Hurricane Matthew
bears downs on the Caribbean.
Forecasters expect it to hit Haiti with 140-mile-an-hour
winds and 3 feet of rain before moving on
to the Bahamas and Florida.
KARDASHIAN ROBBERY
Police say Kim Kardashian may have made herself
a target for robbery by posting images of
her jewellery on social media.
The reality TV star was robbed at gunpoint
in Paris early on Monday morning and the thieves
stole millions of pounds worth of jewellery.
Just a few days before the incident she posted
a photo on Instagram of herself wearing a
huge diamond ring.
GIRLS’ APPEARANCE
It appears young girls are becoming increasingly
unhappy with the way they look.
One in ten told a survey by Girl guiding,
that people say “mean things” about their
bodies.
It also found some girls as young as seven
believe they’re judged on looks before brains.
