James Corden Pays Tribute to Kobe Bryant

THANKS SO MUCH FOR BEING HERE I’M SURE YOU ARE FEELING THE
SAME AS I AM, AS SO MANY PEOPLE ARE YESTERDAY. IT IS STILL SO HARD TO FATHOM
THE NEWS YESTERDAY THAT WE LOST KOBE BRYANT. AND THE SHOCK OF HEARING THE
NEWS THAT THERE HAD BEEN A HOLD KEPTER THAT CRASHED OUTSIDE OF
LOS ANGELES AND TAKING KOBE AND HIS DAUGHTER GIANNA AND SEVEN
OTHER PEOPLE. IT DIDN’T FEEL REAL WHEN I HEARD
IT. AND IT IS SO UNSPEAKABLY SAD. ALL OF IT, YOU KNOW. GROWING UP IN BRITAIN, LIKE IF
YOU GROW UP IN BRITAIN, BASKETBALL IS NOT A MASSIVE PART
OF YOUR LIFE. NOT MANY PEOPLE PLAY BASKETBALL
AT SCHOOL. NBA GAMES WEREN’T ON TELEVISION
WHEN I WAS GROWING UP. THERE WERE WERE SOME ATHLETES
THAT TRANSCEND THEIR SPORT, BEFORE YOU EVER EVEN GET A
CHANCE TO SEE THEM PLAY. AND KOBE BRYANT WAS ONE OF THOSE
ATHLETES. HE REALLY, REALLY WAS. AND I KEEP FINDING MYSELF
THINKING ABOUT THE LAST TIME THAT KOBE WAS HERE ON THE SHOW. HE WAS FRESHLY RETIRED. AND HE COULDN’T STOP TALKING
ABOUT HOW EXCITED HE WAS TO HAVE ALL THIS FREE TIME TO DE VOTE TO
HIS FAMILY AND TO COACH HIS DAUGHTERS. AND I REMEMBER LOVING HEARING
HIM TALK LIKE THAT, A MAN WHO HAD ACHIEVED SO MUCH IN HIS
LIFE. HE WAS SO EXCITED JUST TO GET TO
BE A DAD FOR AWHILE. AND OUR HEARTS BREAK AT THIS
TRAGEDY. OUR THOUGHTS AND OUR LOVE GO OUT
TO KOBE’S WIFE AND TO HIS CHILDREN, HIS FAMILY, HIS
FRIENDS. WE MOURN THE OTHER SEVEN PEOPLE
ON THAT HELICOPTER WHOSE LOSS IS NO LESS PROFOUND. AND OUR HEARTS GO OUT TO THEIR
FRIENDS AND FAMILY TOO. I WISH I COULD SAY SOMETHING TO
MAKE SENSE OF IT ALL. AND I CAN’T FIND THE WORDS TO
SAY, ALL I CAN THINK OF IS THIS, IF YOU CAN, TAKE A MOMENT
TONIGHT, TOMORROW, TO CALL UP SOMEONE YOU LOVE, TO JUST LET
THEM KNOW. WE’LL BE RIGHT BACK FOR MORE OF
THE “LATE, LATE SHOW.” ♪

  1. Why is it all about Kobe…there was more lives on the helicopter…society these days is fucked ….just because he’s famous…..so so sad

  2. Kobe Bryant was murdered along with his daughter and all 8 others!

Something isn't right, so all of a sudden the helicopter goes down, and pilot audio is cut off, then were the hell did the helicopter go when it hit the ground from a low altitude, it completely disintegrated!

This helicopter was pre-rigged to fail and explode, whoever was out to harm the passengers did something to this helicopter installing devices that would shut down and explode! I don't give a shit what the media ends up claiming happened, this horrific and sad tragedy has somebody's fingerprints written all over it guaranteed! And Comedy Central on a episode of Chamberlin Hights in 2016 showed Kobe Bryant crashing in a helicopter then it explodes! Quincidence yeah right!

  3. I've never heard of Kobe Bryant but all I am hearing is how wonderful he was. ✨ I believe he must have been a beautiful person. ✨💖

  4. After school these last two days i had a breakdown, cause i used to play basketball and my dream was to meet kobe, but that would only be possible when i die. R.I.P you great champion.

  5. It literally break my heart 💔 when i heared the news and I thought he would at least live a long life but i guess not😢……….

  6. Me too it did not feel real up to now, I still can't believe it…
    I'm literally crying right now.
    It's so emotional….
I grew up watching and playing basketball….
I watch a lot of lakers game in my childhood because of the Tandem Kobe and Shaq and the team with
Robert Horry, Devean George, Derek Fisher, Rick Fox, Luke Walton etc.
Rest easy idol Kobe Bryant along with your daughter Gianna and the 7 other's I hope you are all playing basketball up there in the arms of the Lord…..
We will see you again in the after life….
    😭😭😭

My 🙏🙏🙏 up to the Bryant family and the other families.
We're here with you… all the way.

  7. Everyone so far talks about his accomplishments but emphasis the importance of family to Kobe and how we should reach out to the people we love more often. He definitely made an impact as a human being. RIP

  8. The day before his death, I remembered Kobe Bryant eating bull penis with James Corden. The day after I heard the news he's dead 😓 rip Kobe

  9. You don't have to be a basketball fan to know when a great man is gone. I have never watched a basketball game in my life but Kobe was an inspiration to me. His work ethic and charisma was unmatched.

RIP Kobe, his daughter and all others on the helicopter.

  10. we try and make sense of this as humans but death is the card everyone gets and its played out unfair. Dont worry about the small things dont even worry about the big things just enjoy the here and now the monent your in reading this is the only thing that matters because tomorrow may never come but know you enjoyed the monent you were in the here and now and say to yourself that was enough

  11. Keanu Reeves once said, "The ones who love us will miss us."

    Well, Kobe & Gianna,

You have a lot of people who love you. First off, your family. And second, your fans. You'll have a lot of people behind your back even after death. Death may wipe a soul but not the name. And Kobe Bryant is a name of the legend that several generations will remember.

    As for the following victims:

Mother & daughter: Sarah Cheser, Payton Chester,

Family: John Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Keri Altobelli,

    Basketball coach, Christina Mauser

    And pilot Ara Zobayan

I pay respect to each and everyone of you. This time is a hard one for your families. But whatever you've done in your lifetime will not go unrecognized. The people with whom you've interacted with, directly or indirectly, have had an impact from you. They'll never forget you. I pay respects to the family members of all the victims.

I say to everyone who's reading this comment, go to your loved one; whether family, friend, significant other, spouse, children, relative, whoever that might be, and just give them a tight hug and let them know you love them.

May you all rest in Peace.

  12. Of course we need to honor everyone's lives but I'm man enough to admit that if I died tomorrow I wouldn't be talked about like Kobe fucking Bryant. I didn't change the world like he did. You can't take it personally that he's getting more press than the other 7. RIP to all of them!

  13. Watching Kobe, you always felt like you were watching a Mozart, a supreme being, and at any time he might just make you doubt your own eyes. 41 years is just a blink if an eye, but he filled it up like he filled up the basket. The basket Just wasn’t big enough for his shots and time wasn’t big enough for his life.

  14. Everybody needs to meet Jesus Christ before his death.
IT is possibile, i AM an living exemple.
Satain is the lord of this world,
God is not like we think, he saved us from this world and our body, we need to be born again from the Holy Spirit.
Ask Jesus Christ, He always answers when You call Him honesty.
The Bible tells us about 50%of the truth, the old test.is about satain, the lord of the body called ,,god and lord,,
    2 Corintians 3 .14-17

    1Chronicles 21, 1 and 2,Samuel 24, 1
Always Ask the Holy Spirit, dont trust everything the people say..

  15. Rest In Peace to Kobe Bryant, Gianna ‘Gigi’ Bryant and everyone else who passed away in the helicopter crash 😔😭❤️

  16. I just can’t believe a person you expect would be able to be fine after anything just go away like that… you don’t see that every day… he’ll always be remembered and I wish he could have lived his life out in peace also feel bad for the others who died too

  17. RIPall the people that lost their life's , I have no words my heart hurts so much to know the terrible tragedy, Blessings to families involve 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  18. So very very sad… It's such a shock… We were at Brunch and in the restaurant there was a tv monitor in the distant behind us.
When we saw it, we stopped what we were doing and couldn't believe it.. Then when we looked up, the whole RESTAURANT stopped, and everyone was in shock and saying OMG I can't believe it… It was amazing to witness how many people in one building were shocked and saddened and were Kobe fans… I'm still shook up over Kobe's death and his daughter too. They are gone to soon.. RIP Kobe and His Bless your Wife and family. THANK YOU TO ALL THE TALK SHOW HOST FOR THEIR WONDERFUL TRIBUTES
IT IS SO APPRECIATED AND HEART FELT.

  19. A nice tribute tribute…
Love & blessing to all of the families who lost loved ones in that tragic helicopter accident.

  20. My friend's older brother is a fan of Kobe and she told me that her brother haven't talked for 1 day after hearing the news about Kobe and Gigi.

  21. I thought 2020 is going to be a Great Year but it's heartbreaking because We Suffered a Loss from a very Special person 💔🙏🙏
    RIP KOBE BRYANT 😢😭 😢💔💔💔

  22. I thought 2020 is going to be a Great Year but it's heartbreaking because We Suffered a Loss from a very Special person 💔🙏🙏
    RIP KOBE BRYANT 😢😭 😢💔💔💔

  23. Only thing if someone is going to mention thinking about the other 7 people who lost their lives then they should call them by name, instead of referring to them as "The OTHER 7 People". R.I.P. Kobe Bryant, Gianna Bryant, John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Christina Mauser, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester and Ara Zobayan. Condolences to all family members and friends on all the passengers and pilot who lost their lives in the crash.

  24. Exactly what James said: Growing up in Europe, most parts of Europe don't grow up with basketball or even see basketball on tv but there are some athletes that become bigger than the sport. Michael Jordan was probably the first one for most of us in Europe, but Lebron James,Shaq and definetly Kobe Bryant achieved that legendary status too. That's why the whole world mourns his tragic death, and that of his daughter and the other victims in this tragedy.

  25. There’s only two in basketball that transcended the sport and that was MJ and KB! The sport will never be the same.

  26. 1 day before the crash, i was Watching Kobe in your show. When he ranked MJ Bron, when he tried to eat those nasty food. Damn life really is unexpected

  27. It’s just hit me more bad now than I already feeling. Never seen him play much only for the last few years of his career but every time he stepped into the court he made me get excited to see what he would do next. It’s just sad to think about

My heart goes out to the others RIP

  28. He’s right. Here in the UK we don’t watch basketball. But this legend was well known shows how much of a true inspiration he was! Rest easy playing hoops with your daughter up there.

  29. so much for the me too movement,COLBY raped a white woman and cheated on his wife, but libs excuse that calls he played ball.

  30. My heart goes out to all the victim's families…..it's still surprising that Kobe and Gianna are gone. One thing I realized is that when Kobe and Gianna died…at least they were together. My heart breaks for everyone who was on that helicopter.

  31. I'm still crying
this is so sad and crazy
2020 is like the worst year and there have been so many celebrities who died and its only January.

  32. Numerology is kinda crazy. I’m not trying to be a lil weird but Kobe was the 8th victim he wears the number 😳8. In basketball you have 8 seconds to cross half court and 24 to shoot. Kobe’s numbers were 8 and 24 for 20 seasons 😳

  33. A lovely tribute Smithy, thank you. You captured that disbelief that is hitting everyone right now, and it was a sensitive and kind message.

  34. I know obviously Kobe is Kobe lol and his daughter are the known ones but everyone reporting on it just keep saying kobe his daughter and 7 other people the 7 other people deserve to atleast be named too- they might not have been famous but they lost their lives also- it's all so sad for everyone involved 🥺🤧

  35. My heart and prayers goes out to The Bryant family, and families that lost a loved on in the crash. Life is so short, and it is important that we cherish every second and minute of it. Whatever dream you have, bring it to fruition, and not let it go to the grave when you die. Bring it life and live life with no regrets. Tell your loved ones you love them, and whatever disagreement you may have with someone, fix it. Do not leave this world not smiling. Thank you Kobe and may you n everyone in the crash Rest In Peace.
