international LGBT news headlines from Pinksixty.
A transwoman was reportedly raped over 2000
times after being jailed in a male prison
in Queensland, Australia.
The woman, who was jailed for 4 years says
she was set upon from day 1 by male inmates.
In last week’s ‘Amoris Laetitia’  Pope
Francis directly condemns transitioning gender.
He also derides the concept of a society without
binary gender roles, saying it destroys the family.
The son of retired African Archbishop, Desmond
Tutu has accepted an award on his behalf from
the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association.
Trevor Tutu reiterated his father’s support
for LGBTi equality, saying it was a harder
battle than apartheid.
Australian telecom, Telstra has restated its
position in support of marriage equality.
The company came under fire last week when
it announced it was backing off from the debate,
after pressure from the Catholic Church.
And finally, Israel is celebrating its 68th
birthday by hosting a Eurovision party in London!
Previous winner, Dana International will be
guest of honour at the event which takes place
on May 12th to coincide with this year’s Eurovision
2nd semi-final.
