international LGBT news headlines from Pinksixty. Ugandan police have arrested an eight year
girl for being lesbian, after a neighbour accused her of engaging in masturbation with
other young girls. Police are now trying to ascertain whether
or not she was influenced by an adult. Despite the Indian government’s assurances
that its Section 377 anti gay law is rarely used, the latest statistics show a sharp 17%
rise over 2015. Out of 1347 cases, only 175 resulted in a
conviction. The Human Rights Campaign have a released
a new video titled ‘This Is Transgender’. It offers a simple, clear definition of what
it is to be trans, to clarify and de-stigmatise something that many people still do not understand. British Olympic diver Tom Daley says he and
fiancé, Hollywood screenwriter Dustin Lance Black are planning a Spring wedding. He told the BBC that a firm date hadn’t
been set just yet and joked that it could have a swimwear theme. And finally, Freddie Mercury has been honoured
by English Heritage with an official blue plaque outside what was his West London home. The lead singer of Queen passed away from
