TDN New Stallions: Audible, at WinStar

It is a great time to be standing a son of
Into Mischief, and WinStar Farm has added the Florida Derby winner, Audible, to its
roster for 2020. Let’s see what David Hanley had to say about
Audible. Audible was a tremendous racehorse. He won his maiden in Aqueduct in the fall
and he won okay. He was always a very laid-back horse, so never
really impressive in his work. So we didn’t know what to expect. But then he ran in an allowance, gone a mile
and he just blew them away and came home by nine and a half lengths. And the way he finished up that day, we were
thinking, “Wow, this could be something.” Then when he ran in the Holy Bull, won by
five and a half lengths, the fastest Holy Bull in six years. And the way he did it. And known that with his relaxed way training
with his stride, with the way he gallops. We felt this horse was going to go along at
that point and he was really exciting. So from there he ran in the Florida Derby
and won to Florida Derby, I think by four lengths. And I was standing at the eighth pole on the
stairs there at Gulfstream. And man when he pulled clear at the eighth
pole and drew off, it was quite something to watch. And he looked magnificent doing it. So then he went onto the Kentucky Derby and
obviously it was a very good derby, with Justify. And he got beat ahead for second. And the form of that race has obviously held
up very good because Good Magic won the Haskell, champion two-year-old. We all know what Justify was. So I think that showed that he was in really
top horse. Into Mischief is just phenomenal. He’s just an amazing stallion. And to have a son of his as good of horse
as Audible is, it’s really exciting to have him and to stand him here. And physically he’s just an amazing specimen,
a very good mover and for an Into Mischief he’s got a lot of stretch and leg under him. And so yeah, we’re really excited about having
him here. The interesting thing about his pedigree is
obviously he’s by Into Mischief. He’s out of the Gilded Time mare, second dam
is by Gulch. So Gulch was a really good miler, but then
you’ve got Easy Goer back there and you’ve got Classy Cathy who won the Alabama and the
Ashland and of course Easy Goer’s by Alydar. So I think the stamina has come in from Classy
Cathy and an Easy Goer. And the horse’s stride and his movement is
kind of not typical of a sprinter. He covers a lot of ground and he’s got a big
stride on him. So he’s also got kind of that Into Mischief
muscle tone to him. He’s got a speedy body, but he’s got that
big action. So he’s an interesting package.
